Guy stood me up

This is a follow-up to my "Who should pay for the first meet?" question. I texted him Monday around noon just confirming our meeting that evening. I didn't hear from him, figuring maybe he was busy at work.

I showed up at the restaurant at 6:30, didn't see any guy there resembling him, waited 20 min, called him and left a voicemail. It was raining so I gave him the benefit of the doubt, maybe he got into a car accident, traffic, etc. The evening wasn't a total loss since I saw one of my guy friends, who happens to be hot, and wound up having a beer with him and his friends.

When I signed onto Match later that night, he was online. Obviously he

I agree with most of this, however...

I certainly would not expect a man to confirm plans with me if we had already set a date and time, especially someone I "met" online. I think things can get a little turned upside down in the OLD world. If for some reason I felt we needed to confirm a meeting time, I would call or email a guy if he didn't call me first. If the plans had been made several weeks in advance, then yes, I would think confirmation would be a good thing. However, if he was a no-show and didn't call with a legitimate excuse, that would be enough of a turn-off for me to end it right there.

Now, I'm with you and Mr. Katz: I don't ask men out (in the beginning), and I don't text or email "thank you" after a date, unless he emails me. I do, of course, thank a man very, very graciously while still on the date. If I really like him, I make it clear.

I want a man to pursue me, but I don't want to make it difficult.

I just saw this post, and I just HAD to comment on something that everyone else missed.

Regarding your comment: "I texted him Monday around noon just confirming our meeting that evening."

Here's my advice:

HE should have been the one to call or text you and confirm the plans with you.

I still have not received any apology from him. Do you think I should call him out on his behavior?

I am of mixed minds on this as well.
