Hmmm SP, that's a tough one. On one hand, there's the school of thought that would say if he has a good relationship with his mom it reflects well on his attitude twoards women. On the other, just how *good* is that relationship?

Would you constantly be taking a back seat to her? Would she be allowed to run your life and/or be th counsel for everything that went on your relationship?

My late husband got along very well with his mom...almost TOO well. It took literally years to get him to "cut the cord". When he did, I ended up on, and still am, on her $h*t list. She treats me like crap every chance she gets. Ooops! A little OT, but it does illustrate a point! :)

I would never jump to conclusions on this one. If everything else looked good, why not explore it more.

I agree. It could be a very healthy relationship. But you never know.

I didn't pick up on some things early on that I should have. But even if I did, I don't know if I would have terminated the relationship. With the exception of the "mom" situation (which was eventually remedied) , we had a an excellent marriage for 22 years.

I think it all goes to back to what is one's personal deal breakers.

I think it depends on the context of the picture. I've seen quite a few pics. of guys with their moms at weddings. The smart ones let you know in their profile that the pic. was taken at their sister's wedding or something like that.

But if the only pic. posted was one of him and his mom and his profile talks about how close he is to his family and how important it is to spend time with them, I might be a little leary. There is a line between healthy but independent relationship with mom and a momma's boy with the apron strings still attached.

Personally, I think it's inappropriate to have photos on an online dating profile that include a parent.
