Had a Great First Meet
| Thu, 04-28-2005 - 9:19am |
I went out to a meet last night and had a great time. It started with ice cream and then we (mostly he) ended up having dinner. I'd already eaten so I just had a bite.
He is very nice, funny (a little geeky, but I like them like that) and very intelligent.
He also asked me how long I thought it took a relationship to get off the ground. I, of course, told him it took time and we agreed on that. Now the key question is what kind of relationship? I'll be asking that shortly.
In the meatime, WOOOHOOOO!!!

PG, we seem to have a failure to communicate here ;-).
As I've posted several times, the question being asked is NOT "where do you think *OUR* relationship is headed?" (with the key word being "our")...it is "what type of relationship are you looking for in general?"
Two *completely* different questions!!! And yes, I totally agree it is WAY too soon to ask the first one...that should wait, IMO, until you've been dating for several *months*.

Pianoguy,
I'm not advocating that people should ask "where do you think this relationship is headed" by the third date. I think that's impossible to know after three dates. However, I do think it's helpful to know what type of relationship someone is looking for. Whether or not they end up having that type of relationship with me (or anyone else) is an entirely different matter. If a man were to ask me what kind of relationship I'm looking for, I'd say I would like to be married, but that doesn't necessarily mean I want to be married to him. Is that any clearer? I think you're misunderstanding us.

Perhaps I misunderstood the direction of your comments.....(it happens...I'm human)....so if I did I APOLOGIZE and am willing subject myself to 50 lashes with a wet noodle!
