Had a really nice first meet just now...

Of course that probably means that he'll ghost ;-)...but it was really nice to meet someone who seemed to be pretty much who he said he was in his profile, and have a nice conversation over a cup of coffee. I was particularly worried that he'd lied about his height (he said 5'7" on his profile which is my height so I was worried he would be shorter), but he was really 5'7"...yea! He's smart and cute, and we seem to have a lot in common. Oh, and he even paid for my coffee!! He said he definitely wanted to get together again, but since I'm out of town next weekend we didn't set a specific time to do so. We shall see, but after having what feels like a run of bad luck lately (lots of ghosts and just feeling indifferent about the whole dating process), it was nice to have a good one.

The one negative is that he's not sure he's going to stay in Seattle forever (he moved up here about a year ago from SF and is having a bit of trouble adjusting)...but I guess we'll cross that bridge when we come to it...

Which site did you use to connect? I think you are on a couple, right?

I wish the best for you, Sheri.

I can't believe I am back doing this online dating *stuff*....I get so frustrated with it all but know it's the only way I will meet people. I had such bad experiences last time with *ghosting* myself, and was disappointed numerous times.

Keep us updated!

Maybe you'll give him a good reason to stay :)

That's great NWW :-) you also haven't had anyone you liked in a LONG while; I really wish you the best of luck with your new prospect. Too bad you couldn't pick a date during the week before you left? It's always good to secure a second date but not necessary either (don't get me wrong).

The thing with on line dating is you can burn out on it especially if you go a while w/out meeting anyone. I'm been so picky lately that I haven't met anyone from on line in about a month (and that's a long time for me, wink) however I will say I have a second date next week with this guy I met through my friend. It's her cousin and she'd been wanting to fix us up for 6 months but the timing wasn't quite right and well, now it is. We too had a great date and instant chemistry. So we shall see, date two next week. However still searching for a number two and possibly number three not to put all eggs in one basket but very slim pickings. I had one guy that seemed somewhat interesting but I couldn't get past his cheesy pick with his shirt open and had to hit the delete button :-), LOL.

Oh and I'm sure you may give your new guy a reason to stay in Seattle if things progress nicely. I think any of us would stay if we found the right fit if we were on the fence about moving.

Good Luck!!!

Hey there, we weren't able to set anything this week because I'm leaving today for a conference down in Vancouver WA for 2 days, then he leaves Wed to go to San Diego for a couple days on business, then I leave Friday night for NYC. So we tried, but it just wasn't happening ;-). We did talk about keeping in touch by phone/email in the interim so hopefully he will contact me...we shall see ;-).

Bad timing :-( sorry to hear that. Hey, if anything it will make the 2 months go by faster if you do make it as a couple, wink. 2 months is a stretch; not sure how you do it but good for you. My 30 day/1 month rule is brutal :-).

Happy Travelling!!!

I hope it works out for you. A little time apart might even make the next meeting all the better.
