Height discrepancies

So I talked to the guy last night on the phone, with whom I am meeting tonight. He had asked me if I was 5'10 as my profile stated, and I told him I was. Then I asked him if he was 5'11, like his profile said. He said no, that he is 6 feet and a half inches. Umm ok... You'd think if guys were going to fudge on their height they'd say they are taller on their profile? I will have to see when I meet him, he may end up being my height LOL

Do you girls find guys tend to bend the truth about things like height on their profiles? Just curious.

Seeing as it was my 1st first meet, I think it went very well. Of course I was very nervous, but I think he was nervous too, and after a few minutes we relaxed. We had quite a bit to talk about, and it was nice to get to know him better. He asked if he could call me again, so I'm assuming he is still interested. I would like to go out with him again, though I am certainly not going to be waiting by the phone holding my breath LOL.

YES! I'm only 5'3" so I date all height ranges but seem to date a lot around the I'm 5'8" range and I'm telling you they are all like 5'6" on a good day :-). This guy I've been dating casually is short -- he's not 5'8" like he states but 5'6" if that -- I feel like I have to wear my flip flops so he appears taller :-). Usually if they are under 6'0" I notice they all fib by an inch, two or three.

I love the comment that your grandmother made about the kiss effort. I really dig tall guys. Two of the guys I am talking two are tall. One is 6'4 and the other is a whopping 6'8! So far I haven't met the giant in person, but the 6'4 has potential. He sometimes has to duck through a door way.

We were at a bar that had a band. We were sitting in booths. I couldn't see the band from my booth, he asked me if I wanted to come sit next to him. Really sweet! When I did he put his arm around me and when I looked at him I was looking up and he was looking down. It is really sweet and definitly hot. He is a great kisser too. I love when he bent down to give me a good night kiss! The height thing rocks!

That's the sweetest thing I've heard in a REALLY long time! Sounds like your great grandparents were great relationship role models. :)

The height thing has been an issue for me unfortunately. I'm 5'8" and just feel uncomfortable dating someone shorter. I dated a guy in college for two years that was 5'4". (I didn't know that when he first asked me out.) His height always bothered me and I thin I started to develop a slouch :). I really don't know why I stayed in the relationship so long. I think sometimes I get involved with someone who's basically nice and feel bad about ending it. Pathetic, eh?

I'm envious of short girls. I've always felt uncomfortable about being too tall. I'm almost 5'10", and I've dated two guys who were about a half an inch shorter. Even though it was a tiny difference, they were obviously uncomfortable. I wore shoes with thin soles for both guys. Eventually I figured out I can allow myself to be discriminating in who I date. I just can't pretend to be that neurosis-free. :)
