This guy wrote to me from Lava. He is 36 y/o and is good looking and seems well travelled and cultured. When I asked him to tell me more, here is what he said. I have no clue what he does for a living and I would appreciate your translation :~)

As for myself, I am rebellious enough about 'how society wants me to be' to be reasonably absent security. I quit grad school in 2001 while doing an accelerated ma phd in economic history. I finished an ma in political theory. At a certain point I found grad school boring, and have been trying ever since to lead a life of adventure. My most passionate work is making traditional crafts and living close to the land - canoes, bow and arrows, shelters, cabins, etc. It rarely pays, however. So for money I do all manner of things, all legal of course. Construction, private investment consulting, just started writing and editing screenplays, finishing a second manuscript, hunt guiding, etc. I have mining claims in British Columbia. So I am pretty atypical, quite driven, and mobile.

Do you think I should meet him??

That sounds very weird to me.
Translation:
I have the attention span of a fruit fly and I consider myself above living among regular people. I don't have a job so you will have to buy dinner. I stuck a flag in a hill in Canada somewhere and if somebody finds anything valuable there I will sue them for my share. Because I don't respect societal norms, I will treat you any way I darn well please and if you don't like it, I will find some other sucker.
Alternate perspective here - sounds to me like an interesting character! An apparently well educated guy, who made the conscious choice to live outside the rat race and make a living doing a variety of things he enjoys. He sacrificed the IDEA of security (these days there ain't much job security anywhere anyway) in exchange for pursuing his dreams on his own terms. I for one think it's admirable... and if you're not interested, send him my way. ;)
I assume you wouldn't be asking if you didn't have some curiosity, so I'd say go ahead... you can always NEXT him later if he turns out to be a loser.
I wrote to him asking for more info so he replied saying he does private investment for friends and family for a flat fee and that he works in construction (does that mean he is a physical worker?) he has an MA but does not look like he has a real job. He just arrived from a 6 month trip in Europe with his pickup truck!
And here is more description of his looks in his own words:
am a handsome man with good features, plenty of scars, a slightly broken tooth in the front right now, and have a boxer's body - muscular, wiry upper body with big shoulders, long arms, and skinny legs.
He could be an interesting guy or could be a loser as well so I cant tell yet.
I would like to check more and see if he is financially stable someone with a broken front tooth is just scary! I hope he was joking :)
