Hmmmm...hold on a sec...

Hiya everyone...old and new!

Been just lurking since I am so busy with my business and also out of the OLD loop. I have read through some of the threads of "contention" that have kicked up some dust lately. Ok, somewhat understand the need for the CM to step in, since although I definately get the tone of humour that flies between a lot of you/us, but realize not everyone does. Also understand why someone would choose to no longer participate on a board where they felt their sense of expression or style was being censored.

What I don't understand is that a whole thread called "See Ya" that was from a long-time poster, funny, former CL, stright-forward-advice-giver, and a rare and valued person who gave us insight into the MALE mind (we are a little short on those here) now seems to be completely gone this morning. I would really, really hope that his thread explaining why he is choosing to not participate on this board any longer, which also provided us an avenue to wish him well and let him know he can come back anytime has not been removed to "hide" what happened?

Just confused. And I haven't had coffee yet, so please use small words if you know what is going on. :)

My theory has been blown. I figured if you were a paying iVillage member, you wouldn't get reminders or warnings. Or at least had more leeway. I won't say what I really think.

XRG, I'm guessing that it was LG's posting of the email he got, which also re-posted the post of his that was removed, that caused the thread to be removed (which makes sense if you think about it--if the original post was deemed necessary to remove, having it reposted wouldn't be acceptable either).

As I posted to LG before the thread was removed, I'm very sorry to see him go and I wish him well.

I didn't read the whole thing and now wish I had, since when I went to read it the next day, the whole thread had vanished. I think LG was a great asset to this board and had much knowledge and great advice that he shared with everyone.

I do know that IVillage didn't ask LG to leave, but he chose to leave on his own from IVillage's censoring and a warning letter to him from them. Sorry I don't know the details. But I do know that he will be missed very much here.

I'm another out-of-the-loop reader. So just let me say that I too always enjoyed reading LG's posts. This board will be less interesting and informative without him.

Also, LG, if you're out there and reading these messages, we who are dealing with the OLD situation valued your online support and friendship and would like to hear from you again. I hope you reconsider your decision to leave this board. Tea

HI Y'all,

Maybe many of you feel the same as I do: It is that GOOD friend who will be truly honest with me, that I cannot live without. In that light, LG will be sorely missed for his honesty and great sense of humor. I cherish my 2 best friends, as they are the ones who will say "Did you NOT have a mirror at home this morning?" "Did you do your hair today with the hand mixer?" or "those colors go together great,If you are a leprechaun!".

Yes, they tease with me, but that means they love me enough Not to let me make a fool out of myself. I think that on this board, when we seem to get 'excited' and throw off our first comment, it is the same thing. Plus, we are All human, and if we All agree, all of the time, then Someone is giving up their true feelings and following like a hamster. No thank you!

I also feel that if I Ask a question here, I am Asking for all opinions, whether I like them, or not. If I do not care for it, I can carry my cupcake self somewhere Else. I am for censorship when it will offend deeply, such a turbo foul language, but very few here use that, if any of us.

This is life...get In it, or get Out. :)
Just imho-isms.

Truly,
Cupcake

I'm guessing that someone was offended by his original post and reported him.
