Did anyone else notice that the name of the Executive Producer was "Terrence WRONG"???
What, they couldn't find Mr. RIGHT to produce the thing...??!!! :-)

I totally agree with you, about Lisa. That was a horrible thing to do to a guy! Especially one that was cute & nice & had definite potential. I think she really screwed up!
As for Cynthia, she definitely is jaded. She just needs to take a dating break all together. I thought she was pretty on nerve with the last guy & he wasn't a bad guy at all.

I don't get her rationale? He was a DOC to - he'd understand. It's not like he'd want to marry her because she's a doctor and can take care of him. It sounded that's why she liked to hide her profession in the first place. Maybe she's self sabotaging.
CountryGirl - I agree about Claire - she kept saying how they had nothing in common and they didn't get along until he kissed her then all of a sudden she was wild about him. See, that physical spark can blind you every time, LOL!!!

I agree with what everyone has already posted. I, too, think they should have some sort of forum afterwards to discuss what happened. And I think they need to go into the process of online dating alittle bit more, just not jumping right into the actual date itself.
I didn't get a good vibe from Josh/Claire on the first date and then she said "oh I can't wait to see him again" and when she was with the other guy the next day she said she was "mentally cheating"..or something like that. Then he dumps here via an email. I thought Doug seemed like a nice guy and the doc lady screwed up. I don't think Amy and the poker player will last.
We shall see......
I'm feeling like everyone else about this show. I'm hooked, I will be watching next week. Does anyone know how long it's going to be running for? I agree with everyone about the four women. It shows that it's easier to decipher other people's relationships and actions, than it is to see your own. I do wish they would go into the online dating a little bit more, but I guess being ghosted on and emailing back and forth isn't really quality television. People want to see one-on-one interaction.
I thought the guy Claire went out with first, the one who brought her the plant was sweet! I'd go out with him, but alas, to each her own. I think she's in her bad boy phase still, she likes the chase. Josh gave her mixed signals but kissed her, so she fell for him. The other guy was very open, honest and sweet, yet she didn't like him. She's my age and I've just gotten out of that stage finally. I would NOT have gone on another date with Josh, seemed like his social skills weren't up to par. Plus it was annoying how she was talking about some famous guy and he just shrugged and gave her a look like, "I don't know and don't care." That's pretty rude.
Overall a good show. I liked how they interviewed Josh after he sent her that email. Don't know if his reasoning for doing it was true or not though...

I can see that most of you liked the show somewhat more than I did. It was amusing, but I agree with Libraclass about the need for more information. Sure, it's not a "48 Hours" report, but many viewers won't have known anything about OLD before. Furthermore, are we going to be stuck with Manhattanites in their 20s and 30s the whole time? NOT a realistic depiction of dating life. (I loved Sex & the City, but we all knew the life those four led wasn't typical.) Sometimes Hooking Up was a bit like a female version of a Woody Allen movie.
BTW, I too cracked up when I saw that the show was produced by Mr. Wrong--bet he gets enough ribbing about that!
It was clever to try to show the guys getting ready for dates, too, but how was that managed? How did the producers manage to get to the man's apartment before the date? Maybe I didn't watch closely enough.
My chief complaint was mentioned by Libra--where are the over-40s? In fact, a recent newspaper article said that the fastest-growing group of online dating service users are older people, and that it is frequently discussed in the magazine of AARP. Evidently ALL of these young women were looking for husbands, which I think might lead to an unwarranted generalization about women using OLD services.
So, here is an amusing reality show about young women in Manhattan looking for husbands via OLD. Whereas I want a show about older women outside of Manhattan looking for dates, friends, lovers, and oh, maybe husbands.... :)
I wondered that as well. He implied that she was everything he wanted so he got scared. Sounded kinda lame to me -- a nicer way of saying he wasn't that into her.
I will watch the rest of the show (4 more episodes, I believe), but I also wish they had more older people on it. I'm not surprised though.
I, too, enjoyed the show, and pretty much agree with most all of the comments so far!
I think it's the same reason why we don't see any NORMAL looking girls on shows like the bachelor, apparently being short, or overweight, or not a perfect 10 doesn't qualify you to win the booby prize of "the bachelor"
Apparently they felt the young females would draw a bigger audience, but then again maybe they will have older people later. I didn't watch it but reading you guys here maybe I'll check it out next week.
