Hope Springs Eternal...

So two guys walk into a bar...and they flirt with me! It's gone straight to my big head, and I've rewritten my profile. A friend gave me some (what I think is) good advice. What do you guys say?

"I am a short, funny, cute woman (5’1” tall, 125-30 lbs) with a killer smile. Tragically, my friends have nothing good to say about me, so you'll just to have to take what I say on good faith <>. I seem to be a woman of contradictions: my career is in the legal field, yet my favourite jokes are at the expense of lawyers. I am shy with strangers and yet I am online so that I can meet...strangers. I am passionate about many things I do, yet my favourite thing to do on Sundays is absolutely nothing. Oh well, variety is good.

I'm very fond of live theatre, museums (any – hokie but I’m addicted) and cruising bookshops for rarities and old favourites. I love dinners out followed by a long walk, watching live sports events (I love Nat Bailey!), and I believe that beers taste best ice cold and right after work (especially Thursday nights, as I can never quite wait until the weekend to celebrate the end of the work week!). I should confess here and now that I have been known to ignore all means of communication, including fire alarms, in order to watch CSI (the original). But in my defense, this is only because there are no hockey playoffs (do you remember those?)! Another weakness is I’m easily lured into curling up on the couch with a heavy-weight thriller, legal or otherwise.

I have been in Vancouver since '78 and absolutely love it here. Somehow, though, like the Canada Goose I am, I still find myself migrating back to Ontario for regular visits. This year will be far more adventurous as I will be taking an extended trip to China and Taiwan (the reason for my Mandarin lessons).

About You: you think at least 75% of the above is charming, if you’ve ever worn a tuxedo it was rented for a wedding and I don’t care if you looked good in it or not (but I'm sure you did), you are kind to others, you believe in family, you have a positive outlook on life, you are gainfully employed, if you were once married you are now divorced not separated, you are SO over her, you believe in personal freedom, you don’t want any/more children. I already love your friends, they have great taste."

Gulp - I await comments.

Thanks, Tracy, wish me luck. I've sent out 2 winks. According to the OLD stats we've come up with, I have a -25% chance of getting a reply. That's an improvement!

I really hope one of them replies soon, there's a sale on at Birk's and I don't want to buy the wrong size wedding ring. No expections, though.

Ola JH! How's it going? I hope all is well. I am enjoying a low key Friday night. The Tiki Bar opened tonight and it's cop central around here. I'm smart to be home. People from all over Maryland come down here for it and there's radio stations broadcasting from the bars. Crazy!

Yes, I think this is what we all mean here on the board when we say "cautiously optimistic!" ;-)

You go, girl!!

BTW everyone, I "hid" my email address in my profile and it was accepted by Match. Well, so far anyway. Now I just wait for the doofus' to figure out the message.
