How many dates via OLD?
| Thu, 06-02-2005 - 5:11pm |
Since the beginning of time (the internet) how many people have you met for a date via the puter? These are in person only meetings- not involving online chat, webcam, email relationships, etc.
I realize this could be a hard question for many of us to answer!
Yet, I found myself thinking about that today. Since late 1998, I've met 11 people. Guess my online dating life has been fairly sparse, huh? To be fair, a few of these "dates" did evolve into long term relationships.

9 and I'm meeting one tomorrow. I've on and off for a little over a year and have met 7 of the men during the last 3-4 months....
One 6 month relationship and two I dated more than once.
I've been on and off since 09/02 OLD and have been on dates with 15 guys. 2 of those turned into serious relationships. A handful were guys I dated for about a month- but nothing serious and the rest are a combination of 1st dates or 1st/2nd dates.
I do have my last (at least for a while) OLD 1st date tomorrow night. The Bar Exam's is in 7 weeks and I don't have time for the "hassle" that sometimes comes with OLD. So, S., will be my last for until at least August. Wish me luck...
I started doing this in Feb. 2004, but only on salon.com which didn't get me many responses at all. So I didn't consider myself a serious OLD-er until June 2004 when I joined match. Counting the one guy I met thru salon, I've met 14 total. I guess that's pretty good, compared to others who've posted. The depressing thing is only 3 turned into relationships, and that's only if one-month "relationships" are really deserving of the term.
I first started doing 'old' in Fall of 2004 for approximately 2 and a half months. Then I took a much needed break from it for 2 months. Thought I would give it another shot and tried the Match 'old scene' from Feb. thru beginning of May of this year. Not including the men that were just interested in having an online email chat buddy, I had 3 actual first meets, none of which went beyond anything more than that... LM
