Hello fellow online daters. I'm just curious:

1. How many first meets (not dates) do you have a month, on average?
2. What is the population of your metro area?
3. Do you think OLD is "a numbers game"? Explain.

Regarding the "numbers game": I hear this a lot, and I understand the value of meeting many men, but how indiscriminate are you in meeting? I ask this because I do hear from a lot of men (I'm surprised at this after two years online) but the majority have NO appeal to me--why subject myself to an uncomfortable meeting with a subsequent "rejection"?

Here are my answers:
1. Less than one a month (I met 4 last year, didn't date any of them--none asked--have met two so far this year, dated both)
2. One million
3. No

1. First dates in a month: 0-4
2. I'm in the NYC suburbs. Millions of men. It's a pretty big population, all incomes, ethnic groups, races...still, the boys like 'em young (I'm 45.)
3. I am not sure if it's a numbers game. I think if you are willing to put up with a lot of nonsense you won't have any trouble finding someone. If you have some standards, it's a little (lot) harder.

I won't go out with just anyone. The other day, a guy invited me to dinner in his initial email. I emailed him back to say I might want to know a little more about you before I accept a date and never heard from him again. Another I stopped emailing because his responses were so, so, so dull I couldn't figure out how he would make real conversation.

I usually accept dates from guys who write good, interesting emails. Sadly, they never ask me out again!!!
