Just wanted to check in and see how everyone's NYE was. I hope everyone had a good time even if it was spent quietly... And may 2007 bring you everything you desire!

I spent it with a new guy I've been seeing that I met at the country bar.

SUCKED Big Time! I never have to work on Sunday nights and the best offer I had was a church party that I didn't want to attend. Guy I'm still interested in did not even call me, so I was majorly bummed out. I suspect he ended up working, but still. I didn't do anything, although I found out later that my friend whose love life is also pretty messed up was home alone with her 2 kids. I could have gone over there. I didn't even think about it, & she said she was sorry she didn't call me, but she also had a ho-hum evening. We may get together tomorrow night. I don't need to be sitting home by the phone. :0

Here was my bloody New Year's Eve...

My SO and I went to my brother's house. Little get together with my brother, his wife, and one other couple.

Fairly good time overall. My brother and boyfriend get along very well, even though they are 15 years apart in age and oceans apart in educational level. They are like big/little brother.

ANYWAY, right before midnight, they have been drinking, they get into this stupid guy, throwing-things-at-each-other thing, and my boyfriend throws something at my brother and breaks his glasses RIGHT AT MIDNIGHT. My brother gets pissed, rightfully so, because now he'll have to have them fixed. My boyfriend shuffles me out of the house because he is embarrassed, doesn't say he's sorry, and my brother is out on the porch calling him names under his breath as we're leaving.

We get home, my boyfriend goes right to bed, and I sit on the couch, *I* call my brother and apologize, and then sit and sob for an hour and a half because I am embarrassed, feel terrible, am angry about my BFs complete lack of manners, wondering WHY I ALWAYS end up with stupid jerks like this as boyfriends, and so forth.

(My BF did come downstairs and call my brother to apologize, and then apologized to me for ruining the party. And my brother called the next day to tell the both of us, no big deal, the glasses were fixed for free under insurance, and wow - he's got good aim!)

So fabulous start to the new year, I must say.

Well, mine was interesting. My last "relationship" guy (casual/non-committed) and I have always stayed friends and in contact. We made a bet on a TV show a while back and I won so he owed me a couple beers. We met a couple weeks ago for the payoff and came back to my house where we made out for a while. Fast forward to New Years. A few days before, we were talking about what we were doing. We decided that we'd get together because neither of us had plans. He brought us a bottle of champagne, we went to dinner and rented a movie. Well, we didn't make it too far in the movie before we started making out. One thing led to another - we were done in time for the countdown to midnight. We opened the champagne, had a couple glasses each, kissed at midnight and it was very sweet. We fell asleep on the couch while watching the movie the second time. We both woke up and he said, "Let's go to bed." I was a little intrigued because when we were going out before, we never stayed over because he said it would give us a false idea of where things were going. I know that very likely this time it was because it was really late, he was really tired and since he'd had a couple drinks and it's NYE and he had a way to go, it was safer to stay. The next morning we cuddled and made out a little more and then he went home late morning. I'm not expecting anything, but I do like him. Sigh...
