So this is the "line" I've been getting a lot lately from online prospects.

You don't look fat in those jeans either.

These guys have standard lines they think will work on every woman. I am kind of wondering what is so wrong with a woman being single, are we always supposed to be striving to be in a relationship? Not everyone wants to be coupled up all the time.

You can say, "I'm single because I have chosen to be single." That would probably shut them up fast.

I also hate that. I know it's usually meant innocently enough or as a "compliment" but in a way, it's almost an insult as well. Kind of like "so what's wrong with you? You SHOULD have a b/f but don't so obviously there's something wrong!" LOL. I'm sure they think they are being complimentary so take it as that but I agree, it's a silly kind of comment.

I usually just say, "Hey, even girls with boyfriends were single at one time."

I get this comment all the time, or even "A girl like you shouldn't be on a personal/dating site! I'm sure you have men falling all over you!" I usually just tell them that I just haven't found the right guy yet and that no, I don't have men falling all over me, at least ones I would consider dating :)

I always think when they say it "I don't know why are you?"

Seems like a pretty silly question to say to someone, almost like there is a cutoff age that we must be married by, or if you have xyz going for you than if you aren't married there must be something wrong.

People have said this to me as well, and I am not flattered by it either. In fact, I think it's a way for them to try to figure out what's wrong with you because you seem too perfect on paper.

Every time I have replied to that question by saying I haven't met the right one, or that I had a LTR that didn't work out, they ghost.

So, that line makes me really suspicious.
