I HAVE to ask

After replying to a request for communication with someone almost 2 weeks ago, I'm wondering how much longer I should give this guy. I mean I can sit here and think of all kinds of reason as to why he hasn't replied, i.e. vacation, messed up computer, yadda yadda yadda.

How do you give somebody to reply? Do you have a "general rule of thumb"?

I am brand new to this myself....
However, it seems, from what I have experienced so far, the guys on the online dating sites are like most people in the respect that, if they are interested, they reply right away.
Good luck!

A *general* OLD rule of thumb is to NEVER put reliance on a total stranger. The ball is in his court, he either hits it back to you or not. Under no circumstances do you lob another at him. Start communicating with other guys.

You will find this happens a lot - initial interest, then nothing. Deal with it, drive on.

Assume he's not interested for now and forget about him, if you get a reply down the road from him you can decide at that point if *you* are interested.

I don't "give" someone any amount of time to respond...I find it easier to assume that each communication will be our last, and then if I *do* hear from him, it's a pleasant surprise ;-)!
