I know, you aren't supposed to get your hopes up, but this guy seems like the real deal. He's funny and seems to have his head on the right way.

So now I'm nervous as heck. We've sparked on email and on the phone, so here it is, the big meet. I never have gotten comfortable with this step. I'm an ok looking gal (I'd actually say I'm pretty in a way) but I'm definitely nowhere near thin nor young. Just a regular middle-aged gal. But we do crack each other up, so maybe that will go a long way.

Ugh. Say prayers. I gotta go do my makeup...

I'll keep yins posted.

Here's my advice because I've had a couple of first dates myself recently, so I know all too well how you feel - just take deep breaths.

I agree with CGUN. It's the hours/minutes leading up to the first meet that are the worst. I've found that once the initial hellos & the first looks, it should be easier, especially if there's chemistry.

I hope it goes well and you are right it is the most uncomfortable step in online dating! Just be yourself and enjoy!

Good luck on your date, chick!

Pooh on him if he doesn't accept how you look. It'd be his loss!

Ok gals, talk me off the ledge. I REALLY like this guy! He is easy to talk to, fun and handsome (at least in my opinion)! I think we had chemistry. It's so hard to know on that first date, but he did say things like "talking to you, time just flies" and how he enjoyed the date and we should definitely do a second one. He even tried to figure out a good time when we could meet again since he's traveling next week and then I'm traveling the next.

No kiss though. Oh well. Pins and needles...I hate the waiting hear again part almost as much as the first meet.

Only one problem. He's just started internet dating for the first time and he says he hasn't had much experience with it. What if he thinks there are tons of great gals out there? I kind of like to deal with the ones who are a bit more seasoned and have war stories so they don't think wonderful women like me drop out of trees.

Thanks so much for all of your kind words. Stacey and Trav, I got to the restaurant before he did, so I totally did my yoga breathing!!!
