I know that OLD sites uses people's IDs without permission to wink at others to get them to pay and sign up to find out who winked at them so he is likely telling the truth.

How did you find out he has a profile on match.com? (since you don't do online dating)

If you always going to wonder then just end the relationship now. I would think there is no way he or you can prove it one way or another.

And if that is the case, you will be in a relationship looking out for any lies or inconsistencies from him and is that a way to have a relationship?

So do yourself and him a favor and end it now.

I certainly can't say if you are being lied to, but I can tell you how the time frame works on Match. The site will show time frames of when the person logged on last. Such as...1 week, 2 weeks, 3weeks, the last month, and so on. Yes, the different sites will pick a group of peoples profiles to send to other members. It's sent out as an email. Profiles don't have to be paying members, but they do have to be on the site and listed as searchable. Don't know what he means by a "filler". He might of cancelled his service but he didn't delete his profile. Hope this info helps.

Thank you for the responses, it does help to clear up my confusion regarding online dating.

I am just cautious and don't want to get hurt.

Pink, I've been on dating site(s) on and off since 2000. I am sorry to inform you that your confusion is just beginning. I would like to see you not let your guard down.
