That's funny - so am I and so is the Hot guy. They say that there is only 8-10% of population that fit into this category but I suppose and Idealist would most likely seek the same.
Yeah, I wasn't sure either so I looked it up. An idealist is someone who is guided more by ideals than by practical considerations. I guess and idealist is somewhat of a dreamer.
I could date someone who has dreams, hopes ambitions, etc. but I would need for him to also be grounded in reality and possess sensibility.

Idealist is a person that is focused on making the world a better place for people. Their primary goal is to find out their meaning in life. They are idealists and perfectionists. They are highly intuitive people that rely havily on intuitions to guide them. Basically an idealist is someone with introverted feelings and extraverted intuition.
here are some of known idealists Janne Fonda, Shirley MacLaine, Leo Tolstoy, Oliver Stone Eleanor Roosevelt,Leon Trotsky, Vladimir Lenin, Mikhail Gorbachev, Siddhartha (Buddha), Plato. I don't think Lennon was an idealist - more of an excebitionist or plain strange perhaps.

That's me, I guess. For example, my ideal is that everyone involved in OLD would be kind, caring, and nice. If someone sends me an email, I send them one back no matter what, and I think everyone else should do the same. That's idealism.
But I also recognize reality; there's a lot of weirdo guys out there who send out "wanna see my penis" emails, and there's lots of people who ignore email and never answer it.
So the "grounded" side of me doesn't let the weirdos get me down; it's just reality and how things are. :)
In politics, my idealism is such that I would love it if politicians in different parties could just work together on a given issue and keep in their minds a goal of getting something good accomplished; the realist in me recognizes that it rarely happens and politics is a nasty grudge match.
I would totally see how dating an idealist, particularly one who is unable to let reality creep in enough, would be infuriating.
I can't blame anyone who doesn't want to date any idealists.
Then again, us idealist types are often the most romantic lovers, because we often have an idealistic version of how a love relationship is supposed to be! :)

I'm still lost. Who is an idealist that I would know? All actors and actresses? All rock stars?
Otherwise, I'm picturing a sort of John Lennon type who paints for a living while puffing some herb.

So who is an idealist that I would know? Are there any famous ones?

Jane Fonda did wonders didn't she? I can't stand her. However, Eleanor Roosevelt I can look up to.
