I would look at it this way: He was unsure after your first meet if you were interested or not. You refuse to be the one chasing (which is good IMO!). BUT maybe a text like that every once in awhile might just reassure HIM that he is not wasting his time.

FWIW: there was nothing remotely sarcastic about my post, and the gist of it was essentially identical to the post you liked so much. The reference to "self awareness" was actually complimentary.

You pursued him once and you still have a date with him. Just don't do it again if it makes you worried. I'm totally like you with some guys thinking I'm not into them. I have to make a conscious effort to come across as interested. So just put on your flirt next time you see him and things should go well from there..hopefully :)
