if profiles were true...

Ok - how can profile after profile after profile go on with this stuff:
" The glass is half full and I can find the good in anything. I think I have a good blend of the right things. I enjoy the simple things that come from the heart. NOT into material things or money – a true turn off for me. A handful of wild flowers picked on the side of the road are far more valuable than the expensive roses ordered over the phone. A glass of kool-aid shared next to the camp fire is far more memorable than expensive wine in an upscale restaurant. I am looking for a man who shares the same values and has similar goals in life."
This is pretty typical of the stuff newbies seem to put into their profiles.
I submit that if these profiles were true, shrinks would be out of business. The makers of Prozac would be winding up their businesses and entering bankruptcy. Match would close tomorrow.

Do you really think anyone is going to put the truth on their profile? Do you know how many men love to cuddle on the couch? Yet in the 20 years or so of dating and being in relationships, I've never cuddled on the couch. Ain't my cup of tea anyways but it's just funny.

Geesh - here's another - you don't have to look very far to find these fairytales:
" Hello everyone I enjoy nice walks on the beach, warming up next to a hot fireplace. I've learned in life to enjoy the simple things in life. Those are the things that really mean the most in the end. I have a big heart and I'm ready to share that with someone. I am divorced and I have two children who live with me and who are very important to me. If I'm with the right person....It doesn't take much to make me happy! A long ride on a Harley on a hot summer day, a bottle of wine , me and you in a hot tub after a long day in the snow......anything would sound great to me if you're the right guy!!!"
90% of my boyfriends love and do cuddle including my current. I was kidding with him last night saying we're like velcro - hard to tear us apart once we're in cuddle mode.
Also, a lot of my friends fit that description including the guy I'm dating and we've been together nearly 3 months.
I've been burned just as much as the rest of you but I keep the faith and I keep thinking positive. If you believe and tell yourself you deserve it and you're going to get it, I 100% believe you will! Negative thinking does nothing but harm your daily life. Why not wake up and say today is going to be a great day and 2005 I'm going to meet someone great not how messed up everyone is, jeez! Sure there are liars and dishonest people but once you meet that ONE special person it's all worth it as it takes just "one".
Peanut :-)
Not really into a pep talk today. Sorry.

Probably why I don't even read profiles anymore. I just look at the stats. What are they gonna say in their profile that's any different than anyone else? I think I'll read it after the 1st meeting - if I like them....lol.

I think the same thing when I see profiles that go on and on about how active they are. They want to jump out of airplanes, hike a mountain, and go dancing all on one date.
I always think to myself "Are you for real?" You're making me tired just reading your profile. :) tehehe
Hi Amjay,
I have to say I agree...'cuddle' is what you do with puppies! What I like is the man who can lie behind me, wrap his arms around my waist, get so close to me that you wouldn't me able to fit a Whisper between us. and kiss my neck and shoulders until I can not BREATHE any longer!
sighhh.....where IS he?
Truly,
Cupcake
All I know is there ain't a couch big enough for me and Mark McGwire.

LOL Lisa!,
All I know, Chica, is that I could surely find a WAY to FIT on any couch with Howie Long!
