If YOU Ran an OLD Site...

If I ran an OLD site, there are certain questions people would have to answer. I know a lot of people lie, but I still think these would be good questions.

1) In addition to the married/single/divorced/widowed question, I would ask, "If divorced, how many times?" I think most people don't mind a person who's been divorced once, but someone who's had three turns on the marriage-go-round has a few red flags.

2) Are you OK with having dating someone who already has kids? (Got the idea for this one from a previous post by...musiclover, I think.)

3) What are your three biggest faults/foibles?

I've also thought it would be helpful to ask people what their previous spouses or girl/boyfriends thought was their worst qualities, but while it might be helpful in some ways, I think that's too harsh a question to ask someone.

Any others ideas? What would you make people answer in order to join your site?

I would love to somehow have honest feedback from the people you went out with already. It could be positive or negative. But I've always thought it would be instructive if you could know for sure what it was they did/didn't like about you rather than having to guess!!!

I was talking w/ 1st exH and I don't know how OLD came up, but he said something like "I'd give you a good reference" which I thought was kind of funny since he was the one who wanted a divorce.

I LOVE the idea of feedback! That would be a definite plus. Even if the reason was stupid or shallow, at least you'd know the other person was stupid or shallow.

I've read about women who call up the former gf's/wives of the guys they're interested in (Don't know how they find out names and numbers.) and have even seen this recommended. The fact your 2nd DH said he'd give you a reference says a lot about you. Maybe he realizes, too, that he's screwed up (and not just the bp disorder).

Maybe you could put this in your profile: "Excellent references!" lol

I know on POF you can add a testimonial on a fav's profile. Don't know if the site posts it if it's negative.

I agree with getting feedback from the dates. Especially the ones where it seems like everything went well...good conversation...similar likes / dislikes...an all around pleasent experience. The guy says he'll call to get together again...and you never hear from him!!
