Well, after a brief hiatus I decided to do OLD again as it seems to be my only hope for getting dates (tried making eye contact in Trader Joe's, not realizing the dude's wife was right behind him - oops). I've had my fill of Match so decided to try yahoo instead. I've used it before so no big surprises. But one thing that irritates the hell out of me is how many guys answer "I'll tell you later" to important questions like age and whether they smoke. Until I did OLD I had no idea so many guys lie about their age, but I swear just about every single one who has responded so far puts "I'll tell you later" so I know they're older than the age stated under the photo. The smoking thing is new to me though. If they won't admit whether they smoke, I'm assuming they do and that's an immediate "next" to me.
I've only been on for a week so I'm trying to remain cautiously optimistic but the first guy who responded insulted my picture and the second one was a guy I had blocked on match a year ago for being annoyingly persistent. Oh, and the geezers are once again out in full force.

Sounds like online dating hasn't changed much since I went AWOL several months ago...LOL
Don't despair- it's only been a week. Hopefully as the weather starts to warm up, the selection will improve as well.
This is what bothers me.
Marital Status: "I'll tell you later"
What does this mean? Does this mean they're married and shouldn't be on the site? Or married but separated? What do you normally take it to mean and is it a red flag???
I feel that it is a 'red flag' because I know for a fact like everyone else who has gone on these sites that they give you a choice...either married, divoced, widowed, single, separated. So I don't know why they are afraid to say anything about their marital status.Obviously they are hiding something.
BIG red flag. It almost certainly means they are married. Otherwise, why not pick one of the options? As a general rule, if someone doesn't answer a question like marital status or about whether they smoke, I assume the worst, especially if they answer all of the other questions but only skip one or two.
