Hi all! I am just out of a relationship with someone I met on an online site (this was our second attempt at making it work and, well, it didn't) so I am back on the market. I feel sort of out of the loop with online dating as I started with it a few years ago (I used to post here under another name awhile ago but decided it was time for a new moniker) but haven't done much of it in the past year and a half as I was dating the most recent guy and then someone else before him . . . so I am hoping to get the latest scoop from all of you re: what sites you use and what is working/not working for you.

I am thinking about trying eharmony - even though I have heard some bad reviews about it, all I have to lose is some money and a bit of time - what experiences have you had with it?

I have met more guys from eH than from any other site but have not met the love of my life (as they claim). I don't find it to be a bad site but if I were you, I'd take the test and put out your profile and see how many matches they send you for a while before signing up. eH is time consuming and a bit expensive and if they are not going to send you many matches or any quality matches, it's not worth it. The unfortunate thing is you do have to be a member to see pictures but you will at least be able to see the number and if you have anything in common before shelling out the bucks. Also, once you do the test and profile and don't sign up, they'll start sending you 3 months for 1 month price deal which winds up being cheaper than doing Match month to month.

If you like the instant gratification of sites like Match, Yahoo etc. then you won't like eharmony. You don't get to just run "searches"

They match you based on your answering of the profile questions etc.

But give it a try, use this coupon code NOV2005THX that will give you 3 months for the price of one.

I never had much luck on Eharmony. However, I have a good friend that met her boyfriend there. I guess they have really hit it off and are talking marriage. I have another friend in her 50's, that has 2 friends (her age) find someone. One lady was married this summer and the other is engaged. I guess you just never know...

I did eharmony recently. I learned a lot about myself and what I need in a relationship from their process. Though couldn't figure out why they matched me with some of the men, I didn't have anything in common with. Not as many matches as some online dating, but the ones in there are clear about what they are looking for.
Good Luck,
FF
