Just Stopping in to Say Hi!

Hi Everyone!

My name is Nikki and I used to be a regular on this board. I did a lot of OLD and really enjoyed my OLD experiences for the most part, mishaps an all. I had every weird thing in the book happen, I think, but it's given me a lot of great stories and helped me see the humor in life.

I met my now husband online in June of 2006 on OK Cupid. When I met him I had been on an OLD spree and I was a paying member on eHarmony, did a trial on yahoo, and also did a trial and had a few dates from Match. Ironically, I met Rob on the site I wasn't paying a dime for!

I noticed someone's discussion topic is "respond to winks?" and when I was really doing a lot of OLD, I generally didn't respond to those. But, when Rob sent me one, I looked at his profile. It was obvious he was a geek and I guessed that he was not an experienced dater (I think nerdy/geeky guys are cute and make great partners, btw). So, I decided to send him a message after his wink (or woo, as the case was). Luckily I did... 3 1/2 years later, here we are, married and really happy. We've been married for 9 months now.

Anyway, I didn't come here to brag about how great my life is or anything... I just wanted to spread some hope to everyone out there. Dating can definitely be rough. My younger sister is doing OLD now and so it's something I still think and talk about all the time. I hope everyone meets someone great very soon! There are great people out there. I hope everyone has a great holiday and if anyone from back when I was a frequent poster remembers me, say hi! I'd love to hear updates on everyone.
