I'm somewhat overweight (size 18-20) and I personally take the approach that if someone is going to reject me for my weight/appearance, then I would rather have them do so upfront by seeing my picture than further down the road when we meet. I also never want to have someone be disappointed in my appearance, I'd rather have them be pleasantly surprised (I often hear that my pictures don't do me justice, even though I think my current ones are good and look like me). I don't get as many responses as I would if I were thinner, I'm sure, but I still get a number of them. The guy I just met this weekend has a gorgeous physique (he competes in a masters level track meets) but he seems to like my physique just fine.
SO...if I were you, I would just get a friend to take some current pics and post them. Who cares if they are posed? You can add other pics as you get them and/or as you lose more weight.
I wouldn't say anything about the bypass until you've gone out with the person *at least* a couple times...I just don't think that type of personal information needs to be shared right away with someone you may never even meet in person (so, no, I would not put it in your profile or share it in email) or see again.
I agree that you should post some pics of yourself. The right guy will not judge you based on your weight, and I'm sure a great pic of your smiling face would be a nice addition to your profile.
Regardless of a person's appearance, I think posting photos helps others get a better idea of your personality.
Also, remember that none of us are ever 100% happy with our appearance. It is a bit scary to put ourselves out there for others, but focus on the things you like about yourself and your appearance, and I think that will come across in your profile.
I'd post a pic right away. So much easier for them to not contact you because of your weight than to contact you and then ghost. You just avoid the whole thing, you know?
And guys are always going to judge. I'm a size 8, but it's all in my hips and butt. Size 8, to me, isn't overweight, but guys still run. Whatever. We're all shallow in some way.

First of all, congrats and "yay" to you. :)
