Long standing profile's

I've been working on my profile on match and I finally have a few pictures (just had one before) and I think it's looking pretty good (I had someone helping me and she had great suggestions to make it better).

Not necessarily I probably have profiles out there on dating sites I've completely forgotten about, doesn't mean I'm in a relationship just means I forgot, or I forgot my password to get into it and it's not worth it to me to go contact anyone about it.

This is sad but I've been messing with OLD for 5 years now and I only edit the written portion of my profile if I've moved. I change the pictures all the time. I will hide my profile for a few months then sign up for a few months. I guess I am one of the ones who doesn't take it all that seriously. I'm just looking for ways to get out of the house, not necessarily a relationship. I'm only going to be in this area for another year so I don't put all that much thought and care into it.

I think it's perfectly legitimate to have a profile up just to meet people, just to get out of the house, not necessarily to find 'the one.'

I disagree. My last relationship ended in May and I've had my ad up since then with 2 sections. I've been an active dater via match and blinde dates through friends. I also don't need to be in a relationship to be in one but would rather wait for the right fit.

I've also hid it for a week or two when I had things going on in my life and no time to date but the two sections remain the same? Perhaps if you're a brand new member that changes but us with our old profiles that yes we revise (I've revised mine quite a bit since May) remains the same?

Also, I've dated guys that say they keep their add's up on line even if they don't use them actively, meaning every once in a while they see someone worth writing too and meet them out. Some men maybe go out on one match date every month or two.

Never make any assumptions with OLD - anything goes and everyone uses it differently.

The key is to have fun, meet men out that truly interest you and don't have any expectations. When you meet your next relationship you'll just know, no analysis, no overthinking - it will just fit like a glove. While on that journey to finding him, focus on quality guys not quantity and enjoy each person's story no matter how long or short, make each day and date count. Even if there is no second date you can still enjoy yourself w/out wondering "will he call again or is this guy really not interested" who cares......focus on you and the right guy will come buzzing by in no time.

Well, I've had some version of my profile up, on and off, for at least five years, so I don't think that it's necessarily a bad thing that someone has a profile of long standing. I think my profile is very good, so I'm not reallying interested in making major changes to it (although I do update it now and then).

I've hidden my profiles when I was in relationships, but didn't see any reason to make big changes when I put them back up. Plus if I *were* to update my profile on match, I'd probably do two paragraphs (about me and what I'm looking for) because it makes sense to do it that way and I don't know why they changed it.

If you can tell me how to create a paragraph in the intro section, I'd be very happy.

You can't just hit "enter" a couple times like you normally would to create a new paragraph? Weird.

Having an ex on match, who recently updated his profile text to reflect a sudden 1 inch growth spurt at the age of 38, as well as a newfound love of hiking and the gym . . . but still has a 2 paragraph profile . . . I think this is a match glitch. It must be that if you have an old ID you can have two paragraphs but with a new ID you only get one? So unfair!

Anyway, the ones I worry about are where they list their age in the profile text and it is off by 2 years - there is a connection to reality that is missing there.
