looking for work help on a dating site?

I just wanted to get other's opinions on this. I'm a website designer and I'm also doing OLD. In my profiles I tell people that I'm a website designer and I get a lot of responses from guys asking me to help with their websites. They don't act interested in dating me or anything, just trying to get work out of me. I have my own clients and I'm not looking for that kind of thing on a dating website. It's quite frustrating to me. I'm trying to look at OLD as a positive thing, but it seems like guys just want to take advantage of my design knowledge. It's not fair to me. Would it be bad to let it be known how I feel in my dating profiles?

My first thought is I just wouldn't say what you do in your profile, or you could give it a more generic name.

My second thought is maybe these guys are actually interested in you, but they think this is a way to meet you--??

You could always respond by saying, "I don't like to mix business with pleasure," or of course, just don't reply.

So basically you want to be able to leave "I'm a website designer" in your profile, but not have to be bothered with people that want to hire you?

You must have plenty of work!

Seriously... if the problem is that people are contacting you in a non-dating way because of something you said in your profile, the simplest solution is to... take that out of your profile.

Problem solved.

This story reminds me a bit of a plaintiff's attorney I met on match.

Yeah, that was my reaction, too. Most of us self-employed-service-provider-type people are happy (or, in some cases,
