I never liked him but he has totally lost it - I saw part of Oprah (could only stomach about 5 minutes) and he was out of control. Now he is dissing Brooke - not only for taking meds for postpartum but her career?! Dude is WEIRD.

That's funny SP - I was thinking the same thing as I read that article this morning. He has gone off the deep end. I used to like him but thought he was very slightly odd but now he has just lost it. The only part I have seen of the Oprah episode was what has been shown on the news and all where he drags Katie Holmes out on stage. And the dissing of Brooke Shields is completely uncalled for! How about HE has a baby and goes through the post-partum depression with only "vitamins" as therapy and THEN he can judge. A$$!

Tom Cruise is and has always been a crazy a$$.

Now he is dating some one who is almost young enough to be his daughter ( say that because I'm 45 and have a 25 year old son.)

He probably dates her because she feeds his super-sized ego....LOSER!!!

Funny, I was just saying something similiar to a co-worker this morning, I really think Tom Cruise has *completely lost his mind* and if he weren't such a celebrity, I think more people would see his behavior as that of most people who belong in a cult, he is obsessed with this Scientology stuff and is basically a religious zealot by putting other people's beliefs down because they are not his own beliefs. I think he will eventually bring about his own professional and emotional demise, he seems to be acting more and more wierd as the years go by. There comes a point where some celebrities become too much of a liability and risk estranging audiences with their behavior (in this case probably most women who've dealt with post partum depression will boycott his movies) and I think he's getting pretty close to that point.

Why would you have any respect for any actor anyway? I mean yeah have respect for them as human beings but placing any weight on what their thoughts are on anything seems a little overboard. I like Sheryl Crow alot but I'd never do anything or believe anything differently just because she does, ya know?

I don't think respecting certain celebrities is overboard at all, it just depends on why you respect them. I respect some for what they've had to deal with or other things they've had to personally overcome. No one is saying you have to change yourself or be influenced to do something in order to respect someone, that would be overboard.

I've met and known quite a few celebrities over the years because of the horse business. The only ones I ever had an innate respect for were Mr. and Mrs. Newman and John Denver. The rest we sort of make fun of.

Ya know SP, I never liked him anyway. The only movie of his that I saw was "Risky Business".

I think his remarks about Brooke/postpartum depression are ignorant. I always prefer a more natural approach to health issues myself, but I feel that there are some things that "vitamins" can't help. You just need to take it to the next level.

Tom clearly needs to work his thoughts out a little better on the Clay Table...

Because you actually met them which makes complete sense. I have respect for Hilary Swank as an actress and that's it. That's what she does for a living and she's good at it. Like everyone else who's good at their jobs. What she has to say as far as politics, other people, etc. means little to me.
