Making Eye contact

Whilst training at the gym I noticed two nice young women training together. One them noticed me looking at her so I deliberately made eye contact. From that moment on we kept looking across at each other. I was doing it deliberately and wanted her to “catch” me out even though I tried to make it appear innocent/accidental.

How would you feel if this happened to you? In other words, does someone eyeing you flatter you or do you consider it rude?

It depends on HOW. If it's ogling and the guy seems to be more "Hey baby, you're hot" or if someone is outright staring at me, it bugs the heck out of me. No spark guy that I let go last night stared at me for a while near the end of the meet. It creeped me out.

However, if it's flirtatious looks and little grins and stuff, it's flattering and fun.

Depends on *who* is doing the eyeing. I would say, if it is a nice looking, clean looking guy, I am flattered. I may or may not do any serious eyeing back because I am shy and afraid of misreading the cue.

I guess it depends on the guy. If I think he's attractive I'll return the eye contact at various intervals...too much or prolongued eye contact gets a little creepy though. The occasional glance and perhaps a smile once the contact is mutually obvious is flattering.

This morning I was leaving the convenience store and I'm in my car and this guy was walking up the sidewalk toward the convenient store door.

I just recently experience this and it was creepy. I went to a nice restaurant with my coworkers and there was a man eating his lunch by himself. When we walked in our eyes met, but I didn't think anything of it. After that, I felt his stare all through lunch and I had a hard time eating until he left. He was perfectly nice looking and well dressed, but it made me feel very uncomfortable.

Hi Hal,
I would consider it complimentary as long as it didn't involve leering or drooling........lol

I don't consider it rude; just the way it is. I don't usually make eye contact very often at the gym as I'm there to work out. The eyes are the window to one's soul and sometimes I prefer to ignore the invasion so to speak by not looking back.

Now if I like a guy then yeah it's fine.....

Interesting topic...
