Match.com profile critique

Hello Everyone,

I’m just looking for a profile critique. I decided to write it in (with the help of one of my neighbor’s) third-person to give it a different twist.

Tell me what you think?

All the pictures are current except for the sunflower ones. They are about two-years old. I decided not to put any car pictures since those are “Iconic” pictures with every guy… The pictures of the mountains are of Yosemite-at the top of Half Dome. It’s a thing us Westerners do, and I’ve seen one picture of Half Dome in every twenty or so profiles I’ve looked at.

My match.com screen name is 1NiceGuyNextDoor

Thank you,

Martin

Martin,

From what I can see, you don't need Betty to hide behind.

Um...yikes. I am just going to 2nd everything Soooobig said. I'm not sure what this "Betty" thing is, because you said in your post that you wrote your profile in 3rd person to give it an 'edge' of some kind. Its lame. If I were browsing profiles and I came across that I would not even have made it past the 1st paragraph or the sunflower photos. Are those even real sunflowers? It looks almost like a "set" and very staged. I agree with getting rid of the laptop and glasses photos. Its just all very, very cheesy. Granted, I'm in my late 20's so I might like different things then the women you would be interested in. I would delete the whole thing to be honest. It sounds like you are trying WAY to hard and made up this Betty person, or that you are (sorry) desperate and want to make yourself sound "cool" because "Betty" digs your pheromones. Be yourself, write a profile from your point of view. Don't make it too long or informative or it will 1)take away from some good conversation starters and 2) well, its boring to read that much! Ditch most of the posed photos (you know which ones I'm talking about). Whether Betty is real or not, it doesn't matter. Betty shouldn't matter, only Martin!

Don't try so hard to stick out.

P.S. No woman wants to feel like she has to get another womans approval to date a guy, nor does she want to feel like everything she says, her date is running home to tell another woman. Women want to date a man. Not a man and his married neighbor. Sorry to be so blunt, but you seem really nice and I think you would be much better off without that excess dressing up of your profile.
