match.com question

I was wondering...if someone cancels their membership at match.com and they hide your profile, can someoen still see it if they type in your profile name. I know it won't come up in general searches, but could someone see your profile if they remember your name or does it get hidden from all? Thanks for any answers

I just tested my profile - if it's hidden, it's hidden, even if someone types in the specific name.

It is hidden completely. Yet, if you have received email from them and haven't deleted it, you can still email them through that and they will get it. But you can't pull up anythign in their profile. The page that shows your incoming or sent email that lists all of your email and who it is from will show their screen name and date email was sent, but in the column that shows like a folder icon, it will be a pale grey instead of the regular dark type and that means their profile is hidden.

So what I have come to the conclusion about that is, that even though people say they have removed their profile (as in hiding it to date exclusively), they coud still be emailing with past connections, yet it would also show that they have activity though and they couldn't hide that.

This one guy I was emailing with, his profile would be hidden for a few days, then show for a few days and he kept doing that and it was just weird, so I quit emailing with him. I had asked him about it and he said he was having trouble with it, hmmm sounds like a lie to me for that to be happening so many times! Plus he seemed like one that would never get to meeting and my reason to be on there is to meet face to face with guys, not to just be email pals! So my instincts said drop him, so I did!

Thanks for the feedback. However, can you explain this? If I type in the profile name of this guy I know, his profile comes up. But, if I do a general search for men in his area and age range, it doesn't. I'm just wondering why if it isn't hidden.

From my experience, dating sites prioritize results according to your search criteria, and/or profile similarities, test results, etc. The guy probably doesn't show-up in the search results because the people or program that runs the searches don't think you're that close of a match, not that you aren't. The results are indeterminate. How many pages do you search thru before you get tired?

I never even completed a profile for match. I only have a user name. I don't remember if I filled out my town though. I only search for males in his age range and within ten miles of his town. Honestly, his profile and mine would have a lot of similarities if I did complete one. He's looking in the 50 miles range and I'm a little out of that though.
