Like it or not, OLD still has that stigma attached to it. Do you tell others that you met a guy online? Is it really that bad to make something else up?

It does???? Huh. I don't experience that at all...I feel it's VERY accepted. I can't imagine that people would think worse of me because I do OLD but if they do, then they're not people whose opinion I care about or who I want in my life anyway!

Yes, I tell people how I met the guy. I personally would not feel comfortable lying about something like that (or see any reason to). But that's a personal decision.

I suppose my problem is that I met this latest guy on CL. Sorry, I'll tell my parents I met a guy on EHarmony or even match, but NOT CL. That's all I need, for them to look into it and start reading through CE - I might be an adult, but there's some things your parents don't need to know.

Ah, yes, I suppose I can understand that ;-). In that case, just saying that you met on a dating site (but not saying which one) might be best!

I guess it sort of depends on who's doing the asking of "where did you two meet". If it's someone I suspect might think lowly of it, I'll just say we were introduced (which, if you think about it, isn't a falsification at all). Otherwise, sure. I'll tell people how we met. :)
