My story

It has been ages since I've been here. Marie, Crystal, Jaycey, and Kel -- I definitely remember you guys and I've missed you! I miss the Cyberconnections Chat as well And to everyone else, a big, "Hi and hello to all!"

Gail -- although I haven't met you yet, I feel as if I know you (somewhat) from reading all your funny-and-adorable posts. You make me laugh and I enjoy reading about your story. Your "Member of the Week" is a FABULOUS idea! I appreciate the fact that you are so open and honest w/ everyone's questions, which is not an easy task. Hmmm, if I post here long enough, maybe I can be a potential candidate for "Member of the Week." (You can take me into consideration someday :)

Anyhoo, here's my story and I will try to make it short but sweet. Almost 4 years ago, I went online to an AOL Local Chatroom. I was in a sad mood that evening and wanted someone to make me laugh so I checked out other people's profiles in that chatroom. I came across a hilarious profile and just HAD to IM him, so I did and the rest as they say is history! I take credit for pursuing him :) We IM'd for what seemed like hours that evening, then emailed each other daily, later exchanged phone numbers and in one month's time, we met in person at a local Starbucks. He lives 20 minutes away via the freeway (we live in Southern California -- L.A. area). I was instantly attracted to him upon meeting him for the first time, which was like a blind date actually because we never exchanged pics online. Good thing we were both honest about what we looked like! That initial meeting lasted 7 hours, as we met on a Sunday afternoon and I didn't arrive home until 8:00 p.m.! No, we weren't at Starbucks for that long. We ended up driving (in our own cars) to a place to eat near where he lives and walked along the beach afterwards where he kissed me. Awww, sounds romantic doesn't it?

Well, in a nutshell, that is my story. Any questions?

No, Gail, you're not nosy... inquisitive is more like it and that's a good thing :)

Now, to your questions... We have been dating exclusively ever since that initial meeting in Sept., 1999 (almost 4 years ago) so he is my boyfriend now. I am very happy with our dating status, just as we are right now. A lot might say or wonder if we're ever going to get married and yes, we have talked about that incessantly and will continue to talk about it. But I don't see marriage in the near future with us, which is fine and dandy by me. I am in no rush for that.

His stats: besides tall and handsome? I can't say "dark" in that he sunburns easily... heh heh. He's 36 (I'm 31), we have never been married, no kids, and we both are in the same profession: we are elementary school teachers. As you can see, we do love kids but just don't want any of our own right now. Call me old-fashioned but I'm waiting for marriage in order for THAT to happen :)

Thanks for asking, Gail. Any other thoughts or questions, feel free to send my way!

Well, sounds to me like you may need to re-think the current beau. If you dont see marriage in the near future, then what are you doing with him for 4 years? I shouldnt say that. Some people are fine with never marrying. Would you think about marrying this new guy you met on line? Now, that is the real question. Maybe your Bf and you arent really compatible, and this guy is in your life because it is meant to be. I would think about the situation more. Do you want to break things off with your bf and go for this guy? You two seem to have alot in common. Sometimes that confusion we have about which guy is supposed to happen. Its life's way of saying, "DO something, or get off the pot!"

Maybe you should make an honest decision about where your life is going and do you want marriage at all?

Does the new guy think you should dump your man? Is he looking for something serious?

This is a good story. Im loving it.

Gail:)

Oh me oh my..... I am so happy to see you Free, and you that was my question if you two had set a date yet. It's cool as your both getting the basics down and enjoying life now. That is so great and yes your story would be great for member of the week and also if you don't mind maybe we can add it to the Cyberconnections website? I am glad you came back around these parts and things are going so well.

Whoa, whoa... Let's clear up any misconceptions here. Perhaps I wrote my story wrong or you are confusing me with someone else but I only have ONE boyfriend. The guy I met online IS my current beau. They are one in the same. I'm sorry if I lead you to believe otherwise. We do plan to marry someday but I said I don't see marriage in the near future due to personal financial matters. He (my one and only boyfriend) lives only 20 minutes away so we see each other often enough. Whew, I did not mean to lead you to believe I have one man and am pursuing another. I think there is someone else who posted a story like this but it wasn't me! I am strictly a one-man woman and I have no intentions of ever seeking after another. Sorry for the misunderstanding/miscommunication!
