Need input from you girls =D

Hey guys,
Well I'm 20, goto school full time and work when i'm not in school. So meeting new people is kinda rough sometimes. Anyway I needed some of your opinions of how I could start talking to girls online. Like on myspace. It must be creepy to get a msg from a guy you don't even know. I know cause my female friends tell me when they get messages from guy's they don't know it's kinda scary. My question is, what can I say to a girl, whom i've never met or know is anyway, that I want to get to know her and maybe go out on a date with her? I mean i'm usually funny, but it's way different if you don't even know the person.
Thanks for your opinions!

I've been on myspace for a while, but only for connecting with existing friends. I recently tweaked my page and opened the option for dating/relationships.
Keep it friendly and casual! If someone catches your interest, maybe send a message along the lines of what I sent someone yesterday...
"Hi there , I came across your page while looking for local . We seem to have a few things in common so I figured I should at least say hi - please drop me a line back if you'd like! "
Who knows. All you can do is put yourself out there and get used to rejection, cause most of the people you contact won't be interested. That's just how it goes so you gotta not take it personally. Learn by doing. Good luck!
Hi Saad,
Just send her a cute note, maybe saying you also enjoy biking or hiking (something she lists in her profile) and maybe she can join you one Saturday morning. Also if it's a friends system just say how you saw her profile, you're connected thru so and so friend.
Good luck,
Ms. Peanut
PS What nationality is Saad? I had a guy write me recently on match w/the same name and can't figure it out; I thought it was armanian but he said he's not. Thanks!
LOL, I didn't say Armani i.e. the clothing designer :-)
I asked what "nationality" the name "Saad" is? I thought it was ArmanIAN but it's not.
