Never married,/no kids after 45?

Hi,
I have been chatting with a few men from match. They are over 45 years of age (one is 57) who have never been married. No children. Do any of you have theories as to why that is? One of them is a hunk and a half...I might meet him tonight.

I have to admit that I actually felt some pressure to marry from my "church family". I went to a fairly conservative church for a number of years, even though I was a lot more liberal than most of the people who attended there. Getting married and having "families" seemed like the ultimate goal for most of the women there, although most of the women were educated and not incapable of making it on their own.
The guy I was with for years did not claim to really be a "Christian" in the sense that he did not attend church at all. He was more agnostic than atheist, but I felt persecution for dating a "non-Christian" regardless. I eventually left that church, but it wasn't over one issue--I didn't fit in in a lot of ways besides being nearly 40 and never married. I will say that a couple divorced friends of mine also felt persecuted for their being divorced as well when they went there. In the "normal world society" though, it seems like divorce is so common that most do not bat an eye at it.
