New Cyberconnections Website Design Idea

Hi all,

I thought I'd come up with a couple of design ideas for the Cyberconnections web site (Jayce, no offense but the site could use a new look. The current design is very 1995).

Below are 2 design ideas I've come up with they aren't web pages yet, just design concepts. Please let me vote and tell me which one you like and as long as Jayce is ok with it the one with the most votes I can turn into the new web site.

Vote on one of these please:

Idea #1: http://www.calyxdesigns.com/cyberconnections/design.jpg

Idea #2: http://www.calyxdesigns.com/cyberconnections/design2.jpg

Jayce - if you read this contact me (gabi_k1971@yahoo.com) and we can discuss if this can go onto the ivillage hosted page you run, or if it would be better hosted off one of my servers (I'd be happy to host if iVillage can't handle a custom design like this).

Anyway ... I thought I'd lend my skill to the board in some way. :o)

Gabi

I think they are a great idea gabi!!! Nice job on both! Really like them. I think the 2nd one for sure is my choice. Let's see what the other think. Gabi, you are so smart and bright!!! I wanna be more like you! lol

Hey Gabi,

What a great job you did, I can just say: wunderbar;-)

I like them both and to make a decision is not easy. But I think that the first one is more romantical somehow and therefore better for our purpose. If I had to choose a design for my own page I would take the second which has this retro charme I really love.

You do things like that in your job all day? I am starting to get jealous here, must be wonderful to be that creative.

I am already curious which design will make it finally!

I like both ideas.. but I think that Jayecey did a great job and that she didn't have to make that ivillage page. When she did it, she did it as her personal page. She *shared* it with us here at Cyberconnections. I, for one, am grateful to what Jayecey did for us. What a snide comment... so 1995.. come on.. there wasn't a need for that.. No offense... You did design some great sites, but there was no reason to make it seem like Jayeceys was inferior. You could have said it a different way.. that's how I feel. If hosting would be a problem... my fiance owns a computer business and he can host it for us as well on his server. I think that ivillage was just hosting sites that were made on their website builder anyways...

I'm sorry you took it as a snide comment. It wasn't meant to be. I think it is great that Jayce donated her personal site for our web site. I was just trying to give justification for perhaps updating the look.

And Jayce I apologize to you as well if you misinterpreted my comment too.

hey, hey!!! Gabi, certainly did not mean anything in the world by her post. Now, that is uncalled for. I understand you may have totally misinterrupted her intentions here. She had made this suggestion to me and to Marie a while back. So, please try and lighten up. She was not making anything less or more, she was only offering a new design and if no one liked it, she would have let it go. It is not that big of a deal. Marie asked if anyone had any new ideas or pics for the website, if you read her post last week. So, please dont make it seem like gabi was trying to make jayecey look inferior. We love jayecey and gabi is totally asking for her opinion on this. That is it. Nothing more.

Hi Gabi

In your defence...I couldn't find the post but I do remember that this subject (redesigning the website) was discussed and you were invited to present your design ideas.

Anyhow, both are good but I really liked the second one.

Thanks Gabi, for those choices they were great and more up to date. First, it would have to be apart of IVillage's website builder and check those out to see if it works. Jacey is busy right now and has been around. I am sure she will not mind sharing the site. Jacey did an excellent job and took much time in coming up with her site FOR THE BOARD and we are all greatful of it. She has been maintaining it (with all the work) for a long while. I did ask for suggestion and you said you'd do that and I am thankful for that. We will get what she thinks (either here or email) and go from there. I know this is all a suggestion and if we get others who have ideas then go ahead and submit them better to have some then none. We will see from here where this goes from Jay's stand point.

Marie

**Note this is by no way taking away from Jaycey.

Hey it was just a suggestion coming from a member of the board with a background in web design and usability. I'm sorry its causing so much trouble. Forget about it then.

Hey Gabi,

I think your idea is great, our website needs a lil renovation just like any other sites. But Jayceey did a good job too in creating our site at first.

The 2 designs are nice but i like the 2nd one more. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and skill. Ok ladies, vote now!

I agree with you la de mafi. When I read the first post a week or so ago about changing the website, I thought the comment about Jayecey's work was very rude. I bit my tongue though and left it alone. Then once again a rude remark was made about her work.

I doubt very much if Jayecey would mind sharing the work on the website, but keep the rude comments to yourself.
