Sizes are much bigger now than they were back in the 50s and 60s. If she were alive today, I'm guessing she'd be about an 8 or a 10.

"I decided to both try a BBW site or two(contacted-winked at a couple there) and also to sort of address the issue honestly on my profile."
Why don't you just post a full-body picture with your profile and let the guy decide if he thinks you're attractive, rather than go crazy trying to pigeonhole your body size?
I'm a size 14; I've got several full length shots in my profile and I described myself as "a few extra pounds". Almost universally, the guys who responded indicated that they didn't think I had a few extra pounds. Of course they didn't. The guys who agreed that I had a few extra pounds, and didn't find that appealing, didn't respond!
I just don't see why you would spend time chatting/e-mailing/IM-ing to "get to know" someone when there is the chance that when he sees your picture, he is going to bail (that works the other way, too -- you may not like HIS picture!!) If you're really going to address the issue honestly, you should post a picture.

"I like this guy I am chatting with a lot."
I hope you meet very soon because it's dangerous to build up emotions online like this. Have you seen his pic?
