Winks. How do you feel about them? Do you respond with an email? with a wink? Ignore all together? Is your answer entirely profile dependent?

They seem so lazy to me - like a guy can just wink away and see who reponds. Does a wink back put the onus back on them? I've been going on a case by case basis but was curious as to what others did. TIA.

If I'm interested based on their profile, I'll wink back, then leave it up to them to email me. I'm fine with them putting out a feeler to see if I'm remotely interested (I do the same thing), but I want them to take the next step.

Hi,

If I have a mutual wink, I would send a short email including my yahoo email address. Some of them are not paying members. More than 50% responded back with an email.

Hope this helps,

Why do you wink instead of email? I've noticed in the winks I've received that often I don't make their criteria, i.e. I was younger or a different body type than their stated preference. In each of those cases I winked back, but then never heard back from either. Who knows why, right?

I guess this all just live and learn - but thanks for the feedback. It's interesting to see what other people do!

Because I want to see if they were kind of "spamming" dozens of winks, or if they are really interested in MY profile but just testing the waters.

And because, at the moment, I'm not a paying subscriber anyway, so I can't ;-). But even when I have been, I prefer that the guy send the first email.

Just an FYI-Match will wipe out your email.

So, Sheri, what do you do if you and a guy winked at each other, he sends a nice email but doesn’t provide the personal address?

I understand Jodie’s and your point of view. Probably these guys are not interested enough if they don’t make an effort to contact me. I shall see how my little experiment turns out.

Cheers,

I'm faced with that now...on Yahoo, rather than match. He sent me a nice email after we exchanged winks but didn't provide his email address so now I have to join if I want to write to him. But I don't want to join just to email one guy, so I need to get on there and see if there is anyone else worth contacting. If so, I guess I'll pony up the $20 ;-).

I’m not on yahoo, but a friend told me that non-paying members can receive incoming instant messages. Also, it's cheap if you pay in advance - $99 for 1 year. I’m thinking to join it too, as soon as I get a new photo.

Have a fun search,

This is going to sound funny, considering that I've been doing OLD on and off for, oh, about seven years now...but I refuse to pay for more than one month at a time! A year's membership seems so pessimistic to me, LOL! I am quite sure that a guy who is right for me is going to appear ANY DAY NOW!
