rlch...

First...Pianoguy can't understand why you 'haven't been spoken for' by now? Your picture indicates that you are a VERY LOVELY WOMAN who is blessed with a very lovely daughter.

Anyway...you've made more than an effort to make contact with this man. Now IT'S HIS TURN TO COME TO PROVIDENCE, RI AND 'COURT YOU' A LITTLE?

No more compromises or excuses! If the interest is HONESTLY there...he better start proving it to you!

lol Piano Guy .... in all honestly, I dont WANT to be spoken for anytime soon! lol

As you know (from our other board), i just am out of a hellish marriage. Dating is fun & I actually HOPE i dont find "the man of my dreams" anytime soon. I am enjoying dating, but also living my OWN life for my daughter & I & being thrilled doing it. Now ... in a year or 2 ... yes, THEN I hope i find the man of my dreams! lol

But thanks for the compliments!

Excuses, excuses, excuses. This guy is being plain impolite! The fact that he told you upfront just means he knew in advance he would need excuses for getting out of dates. I don't know why he's behaving this way, but my rule is if a guy cancels on me more than once in the beginning of the relationship, I'm done. You have to have boundaries - you deserve to be treated better!! Plus, it is HIGHLY sketchy that he's doing this. Could be a million reasons, but it doesn't sound like he's being honest and I wouldn't trust him.

I had a husband like that. Traveling made him feel important; he had somewhere to BE and someONE to be as well.

I think it would be fine for a fun date if you can catch him, but Travel Man will NEVER say no to business and make his lady a priority. Never.

"I am headed to Texas to meet with lots of old guys with oil." WTF does that mean? Do people actually talk like this? Sorry, but this guy sounds like a FAKE!!! Move on....

I dunno. I think if it were happening to me, my patience would wear thin pretty quickly. Ideally, I'd like to be able to get to know the person and be able to spend some quality time together without things like last minute business travel coming up.

Of course, what works for some doesn't work for others....but this is a scenario I wouldn't opt to be a part of. I'd keep my options open and focus my efforts on finding someone capable of being present.

Could very well be excuses - I agree. Either he is completely impolite by cancelling, or he was being overly polite knowing his work schedule & warning me up front - which in all honesty he did. BUT ... who the heck wants to BE involved with someone who has to cancel stuff all the time? No wonder he cant find a girlfriend! No one would put up with it!

I sort of do believe him - I think he really is away as he says. But still, if he cant follow thru, TWICE within 7 days ... its his turn to get here, THEN call me !lol

The only thing I can say about his "language" is that he is European & actually, English is his 2nd language. I have dated a few Eueopean guys & even if they speak less formally, often I have found they do use words like "shall", lol.
