I'm talking about guys in late 20's, early 30's, who are attractive, professional types. I was reading several profiles today, then you get to their "perfect match" part. They want someone with "NO KIDS."
as a 32yld professional female with no children I know one of the top things I look for are no kids. In my case I don't relate well to children and I find them intimidating. Also as someone who doesn't have children I see my friends who have children have different lifestyles than I do. (less freedom to drop everything and go out of town, to dinner, to movies whatever.) The men that I have dated that don't have kids and are looking for a female without kids express this different lifestyle philsophy too.
I agree there is a huge double standard about wieght/appearance. I once had a guy explain this to me...he said that he felt that women were attracted by the complete person, (ie how does a man treat me, is he intelligent, is he kind...yadda yadda.)He felt that a woman was more willing to over look a few extra pounds, if the guy had personality. Whereas a man is attracted visually first. (ie thin, cute,) Then they think but only think about personality.
I've noticed men who don't want children themselves, but I haven't noticed men specifically noting they want women with no children.
I think that you might find those same people that don't want to date women with children also don't have children themselves.
Although I am not opposed to dating men with children, I would prefer someone that had no children or at least wanted more.
