"The Small Peanut"

How many pounds of peanuts are consumed in the United States each year?

2.4 billion pounds! About 50% is consumed as peanut butter.

Holy cow! Hopefully she is fine but I would guess that she might be without power. I haven't seen her on any of the boards she posts on today. Everyone think positive thoughts for Sheri!

Hey, thanks for thinking of me. My power is out at home but on at the law office downtown where I do part-time contract work, so even though I don't have much work to do here today, I came in to the office to stay warm and get online, LOL. Even though I have battery power for my laptop, my cable internet connection is down.

Hopefully power will be restored in my neighborhood soon, but if not, I've made arrangements to stay with a friend tonight who is in a neighborhood that didn't lose power.

Glad to hear. Is the storm as bad as the media makes it out?

It was pretty bad. I thought my house was going to come down around me a couple times during the night from the wind blowing so hard! Apparently there are downed power lines just a few blocks from my house (as well as all over the city and region) and lots and lots of trees came down. And the flooded streets last night were bad--my street (which is a major arterial) was closed for a while due to a "lake" that formed about a block from my house because the drains were overwhelmed.

But now it's calm and sunny so hopefully that'll be it for the bad weather for a while!
