Well, it was interesting. We met for dinner at a nice seafood place that I love and we had a really good time together. Once again, the conversation flowed easily and I found out a lot about her. She seemed to be giving me good signals, so I was encouraged by that. I did get the impression that she dates a lot. She just talked a little about some of the guys she has met online, and she complained about a shortage (no pun intended) of really nice, decent ones. She did say she thought I was an exception, which was really sweet.
I did ask her about the height situation. I told her I thought she seemed taller than 6', which she had on her profile. She said she had her height at 6'4" at one time but found that almost no one contacted her, so she moved it down. She told me it was funny, because she was *always* taller than the guy, so most of them didn't even seem to notice the discrepancy. Anyway, she was honest about it, but I am now looking for more red flags in her profile. I really hope I don't find any.
We had planned to play mini-golf after dinner, but there were some horrible thunderstorms here that night (tornados and hail and all that), so we thought it best to end the date and get home in case we needed to take cover from the storms.
I let her off at her apartments with a short kiss goodnight.
All in all, I felt good about it, but I am still not getting my expectations up too much.
CONGRATS. one piece of advice, go live it. don't look for red flags. you are discerning enough to see them and evaluate when they appear. i think this aspect is what makes OLD a negative experience. enjoy the ride and let it happen as it would in real life. You wouldn't be looking for red flags in her profile in real life - so pretend its as though you just met out and about. go from there.
Good luck with the date. You've made it to the 2nd get-together so I think you're doing just fine. More than I can say for myself. Although, I do consider myself the King of e-mails, phone calls, and IM.... :-)
Thanks for asking Sisfox. :-)
