Old Pics, No Pics on Profile

I met a couple of guys from Match. One had pictures, but after I met him, I knew those pictures were old.

The other one had such an interesting profile and sounded nice and intelligent on the phone, but no picture. He said he could not provide a picture because he was in the military. I met him yesteday. YUCK!

What do people like these expect when they eventually meet someone??????????

Hi and welcome to the board! I've run into the same situation, and more than once. Just last weekend I met a man for dinner and a movie and when we met, I hardly recognized him! The photo on the personals site had to be taken at least 10-15 yrs ago. I didn't make a scene, I just enjoyed the meal and the movie and then thanked him and left. I would not date him again, because I am not interested in anyone who feels the need to deceive.

As far as excuses for not providing a photo, in this day of technology there is no reason not to have a photo available. It proves they are trying to hide something, and I won't get involved with anyone like that.

And, what do these types of people expect? I can't read their minds, but it seems pretty obvious that they believe what they are doing is acceptable. But I see it as a lack of respect for others.

Hello and welcome! I hope you'll find good advice here and decide to stick around and become a part of our community.

As for your question, I'm not really sure what people think. I do believe that many folks are insecure about the way their pictures come out and what they look like, so that is a major driving force. One thing I've found that works for me is to not meet up with guys who have no pictures or who have pictures that are older than 6 months. I've gotten to the point where I ask straight up how old their pics are. Bad? Maybe... but at least I know the truth before I go to meet them. Maybe taking that route will work for you as well?

Hope this helps and I hope to see you around!

Thanks for your responses everyone. Wish me luck next weekend. I am meeting a guy whose pictures are supposedly not older than a year.

How can you possibly describe someone's looks with the word YUCK??? And in caps. Shame on you for that. Do you believe in karma? I do and calling someone YUCK won't get you very far.

Totally agree. I hope she at least thanked him for his service to our country.

Well, everyone is entitled to their opinion and I stand by mine...YUCK. And I am sure he knew I would not be attracted to him when I met him. The deceit is YUCK.

Please folks, let's not get on others for their descriptions of online experiences. This forum is meant to be a place where people can vent their frustrations w/o being judged or criticized. Therefore, please do not attack another person for their description of a situation.

Thanks!
