Older women/younger men?

I've always gone for guys that are a bit younger, up to 4 years. I can't say that I've ever dated anybody that's more than a year or so older than me, but I'm not sure why.

Well, I signed up on plentyoffish.com last week, and I got an IM from this guy tonight. As soon as I saw his age, I X'd out of it, saying no way...not interested in a baby boy. But he buzzed me again, so I gave in, b/c he was kind of cute.

Here's the kicker...I'm 28, he's 21! I'm divorced, and ready for a serious relationship...and here he is just barely legal!

What do you all think of this? He doesn't see a problem with us going out...but maybe I'm just a bit self conscious about it? I'm sure if I like him, I'll get over it...after all, the last guy I seriously liked was only 5'5" (to my 5'8"), and I normally hate guys shorter than me...

Your thoughts?

Age is only a number. It's the man's maturity and how he treats you that counts.

I've been dating a guy 16 years older than me for 8 months now. Things are great.

There are plenty of women dating dating younger men. Check out the May/December board on here! :)

I agree -- you have to meet him before you can judge whether he's too "young" for you. I have been "seeing" a man who's 20, yep, 20 years younger than I am and I have to say we are on the same page about more things than almost any other man my age I've ever met. We never run out of things to talk about. My last BF was 5 years younger. And I have a friend whose mother used to say the best relatinoships are those where the woman is 7 years older! YOu don't have anything to lose by meeting him.

I recently had a date from CL with a guy who was 30 (I'm 47). It was a bust...he turned out to be a very immature 30, and we just weren't a match. But I took a chance...I figured what the heck. If this guy seems interesting, have coffee with him...what's an hour?

I've usually dated guys a year or so younger than I am as well.
