OLDing too long?

Is anyone else at the point where you're just not that excited about anyone anymore? No matter if they have everything you're looking for on paper (on screen really)?
I am still juggling the 5 fish I drug up in my net with my free three-day trial. Well, actually 4 now. Met one and I guess being friends was out for him. I enjoyed talking to him but I really don't know how you can tell in 4 hours or less whether someone will be right for you or not. I wasn't writing him off at all and he was interested in seeing me again at the end of the "date". Then I got the "we're on different paths" email a couple days later. I know why but I think it's stupid.
I want to date and not just one. I want to meet a lot of guys and get to know them. It's like shopping for a car, kinda. I wanna test drive them and see if they're right for me. And I'm not gonna know who's right for me without driving them for a while, right? Is that wrong?
Two topics here, I think. Sorry.

Topic 1: that would be me, yes. Guess I've read one hundred profiles too many, because everything is familiar. The uniqueness of OLDing has definitely worn off. In my diary I jokingly mentioned that while browsing on Match I managed to fire off one wink before falling into a coma. Only half kidding there.
Topic 2: IMHO, the only people who write off someone after one meet are those with other fish in their net. Otherewise they would take a little more time to kick your tires. His loss.
BTW, I think that you're doing well in that only 1/4 dropped off so far.
Keep looking forward!
