I can't believe what I did today..
Last weekend my son and I were at this bike shop looking for a bike rack. There was this HOT looking guy working there who helped me out with that. HE wasn't overly talkative but was very helpful. Today I went to the same bike shop to adjust breaks on my son's bike. There was that same guy and he looked as hot as I remember him last time. Whenever he said something I was so flustered and shy that I could only mumble out a few words. I had major butterflies in the pit of my stomach. He said that he remembered me and asked have I used the bike rack yet? After he was done with the bike he asked if I need help with loading the bike in the car and I said "NO THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!" As I was walking to my car I felt like kicking myself, I was so mad and nervous and I really felt like there was something going on between us. I drove off and after some thoughts - I pulled over and called the shop and talked to the guy. I asked if he had a girlfriend and he said that he didn't and I asked him if he would like to go out sometime and he said "YES!!!!" And I said "really?" and he said "sure". I gave him my phone number and said he can call me sometime. I also said that he doesn't need to feel obliged if he doesn't want to. Now I am wondering if he thinks I am strange.. I really like this guy, I don't know how old he is, how much money he makes and the funny thing is - it doesn't matter! I haven't felt this way in soo long. If you were him - what would you think of a girl like me who asked him out? Is it strange?

Look at it this way - if he never calls you're in the exact same position you were before - not better and no worse.

I am very anxious.
I wonder if he is one of those guys who wait 3 days before calling :)

Don't be anxious...most likely he will call. If he doesn't, as LG said, you are no worse off than before. In fact you are better off, because you put yourself out there. Any practice like that is good! Don't drive yourself crazy though...if he calls today, or in two weeks, it doesn't matter. Go about your business, and when he does call, if at that time your are still interested, then go for it!

Hmmmm... I find it extremely coincidental that one week later (most likely the same day and time) that all of a sudden.... the brakes needed adjustment.

Actually when I was there first time around I inquired if they do such a service and mentioned that my son's bike needed to be adjusted.

I think it's totally awesome; if I were the guy I'd be flattered, and not think you were strange; and if I were him and were at all interested in you, I'd definitely call.

Good for you! I think it's cool, and as already pointed out- if you hadn't done it, you wouldn't have any chance at a date with him at all. Now that you've done it, you might STILL not get any chance... which means it's a win-or-no-loss kind of situation!

Sometimes this is the best way to approach someone in a situation where they're at work (typically in some kind of customer service gig, but sometimes not) and you're not. They probably aren't going to feel like they can "hit on you", because that would be unprofessional- but if you offer it up to them, in a non-threatening way, there's no problem!

I hope he calls.
