Online Boys.. True or Fake?

Okay so I met this guy online..
Seems amazing.. Good looking, in the military for school and what not, calls when he can.. comlimentary towards me, etc..etc.. Now he said if I wanted to come visit this weekend to do so and I could come with two friends to make it a little more comfortable. That way we could get to know each other a little better. Now, is this a good idea? Is all online dating bad?

Why do you have the impression "all online dating is bad"? I'm not quite understanding where you're coming from.
How far is he from you? The most important thing is to move things to real life ASAP, but if he's too far away to really have a relationship, why bother meeting? I'm not a big fan of LDRs...I ended up in one despite having serious reservations about it and while I'm not *completely* sorry I did it, I won't be going down that road again any time soon. So as I did prior to getting involved with him, I'm focusing on meeting men within an hour of where I live, preferable much closer ;-).
On a completely separate issue, I don't like the fact that he wants YOU to come visit him...I think he should come to you and stay in a hotel.

I just want to make a road trip!
He lives a little over 2 hours away- by the way.
And you're ok with dating someone who lives that far away?
If so, then go for it...bring your friends with you, don't stay with him, meet in a public place (all the usual safety rules apply), and see what he's like!
