Online dating rant

I used to go on those dating sites and everything, and I've met a couple of guys from online. I came across this board and it made me think of a couple of "bad" men from online. This was one of the things I absolutely hated about online dating. The older pushy men. There was one guy who I met in a chat room a few years ago. It was probably 1am and he im'd me and said hi, like to chat? Or something along those lines. He said he was married, and like 50, and that he just wanted to chat with people and socialize. I saw nothing wrong with that, since that was the reason I enjoyed going to the chat rooms. I made it clear that I would only "chat," no webcam, no "voice" or "talk" and no cybering. So we chatted for a few minutes and lo and behold he asks me to put a mic on and talk to him over "voice." I said that I didn't have one and he kept pushing, saying come on don't be shy, and finally I was like why aren't you in bed with your wife. After a while he started to insult me and say things like, "I can't stand your kind," like I was a bad person for not wanting to cyber or talk to this guy over the phone.
There was another guy who emailed me over the personals. He called me sexy or something and said he was an attractive guy. His picture was up there and he was older, like in his 50s, and not attractive at all. I didn't reply, and a few months later he emailed me again, so I figured I owed him a reply, so I replied with "No thanks :)" I don't think I owed him anymore than that. So then he emailed me back saying something like, "Come on babe, don't take yourself so seriously, you're no Carmen Electra...you're no Pam Anderson either...and you're from a dead-end town lol" I was pretty surprised to see this, like I thought I was a playboy bunny or something because I didn't want to talk to this guy?? I just thought he was old and unattractive...and too pushy. And when I decided to be nice and reply he decided to insult me.
Why do they do that? It always seemed to be the older men who would take it personally and then try to take it out on me and take jabs at me. There's a reason they have age ranges and such in your interests parts of those profiles...so they can see, oh, she wants a guy her age, maybe I'll leaver her the heck alone. I'm not saying older men are unattractive or anything, and not all of them are mean and pushy, but some of us would rather stick to someone our own age. Why do so many of them have to get so nasty?

Why ask why? It is what it is. If you're going to use chat rooms, etc., that goes with the territory.
Just don't talk to the ones you don't want to talk to, and use the "block" feature liberally.
