Is online dating right for me?

Ok - I'll make this short and sweet. I tried online dating back in college, with some success. No great romances, but a few friends. I've recently moved across the country, and thought I'd try it again, but have one thing holding me back.

I'm a virgin, and waiting for marriage to have sex. Even my experience with online dating in college showed me that many men are out there just looking for sex. What are my chances of making a connection online? Am I wasting my time?

Hi lothriel and welcome!

Excellent question... now let me reverse it... what are your chances of meeting someone IRL (in real life)?

My personal view is that online dating opens you up to a world of people that you may not have met through regular means. That being said, you tend to also find a larger amount of bad eggs out there as well simply because you've now increased the number of people you're meeting. (I also believe you meet the bad eggs IRL but maybe not as many in a day or week because

I CAN answer yes to all four - simply because they've all happened before, and I've been guilty of a few of them myself. Maybe it's something I'll look into again.

Sounds like you're in a good place for OLD then! And we are always here as a support if you have questions or need help with something...

Do you have sites in mind already or are you looking for suggestions?

I used to have profiles on match, yahoo, and lava, but I'm just not sure. Match seems like men just looking for sex...does anyone have any ideas? I don't think Christian dating sites have enough traffic (people always suggest those to me).

Try webdate.com (it's free).

And I'll leave this out there for others to share some ideas...
