So I winked at a guy on match because he went to the same university as I did - I didn't expect an answer. He sent me an email, and when I went to check out his profile (I went on a winking blitz today and couldn't remember them all), I realized that I don't meet his requirements with regards to eye color and body type. In fact, he's one of those that I posted about before who want one color eyes (green, mine are brown). He listed body type as about average/slender, mine is listed as curvy. Of course, he doesn't fit my body type either (his is slender).

He said he checked my profile out and that I seem like a cool girl. We work in the same industry (didn't know that when I winked).

So do I ignore him now or what? Obviously I'm not what he's looking for....

Eh - he didn't say anything about my pictures and shifted right into aerospace/defense talk. O-KAY. I can take a hint.

I actually asked a guy about this the other day. He had contacted me, and his profile said he was interested in "average," "slender" "athletic and toned"-- I am "a few extra pounds" or "full figured." (I alternate between the two because neither is quite accurate but closer than other options.) My pictures should make it clear that I am not slender or even average much less "toned." So I asked him. "Look, are you okay with my body type? I don't want you to be disappointed."

He explained that he had just stated a "preference" and that I looked good from my pictures.

I don't think this guy and I are ever going to meet in person but it won't be because I don't have the right "body type" but because he makes too many spelling/grammar mistakes and that's a big turn off for me.

Well, oddly enough, his profile says "no answer" for his body type now. Verrrrrry interesting.

We're having dinner Tuesday night. At the very least, we can definitely be friends. We had a great time chatting online tonight about college stuff, and it's always good to find a fellow alum, especially so far away from the university. We have some hobbies in common, AND when I asked if I needed to drive farther to meet him since traffic in his direction of travel was so bad, he said no. Point in his favor (lol, of course, traffic could be so bad that I might have to give up and go home on him).

I am worried about my weight. I guess I'm about average, but I usually describe myself as curvy. I really alternate between a 10-14, but it's ALL in my hips. Ugh. I could be an 8 again and look fat. He's seen pictures, but I photograph a lot better than I think I look. He lists about average, athletic and toned, or slender, and I'm definitely not the last two. I will be meeting him after work, which means I can just wear the black work pants, which are skinny makers. But still....

Well, that tells me that he probably thinks of it more as a "preference" than a deal breaker.

I *know*. lol

I hope you're right about preference vs. deal breaker.
