I just ran a search like I was a man and I did not show up in the search.

I checked and my profile is searchable. I also did a user name search and my profile showed up. What's going on!!!???

No wonder no one is winking. I don't think I'm showing up on anyone's searches.

LG, any thoughts?

I can answer this!! I can answer this!!!

If you are loggeed into Match and search like you di, then you will not show up in your searches. Log out and THEN search...you'll be in there. Can't tell you WHY they have it set up this way, but that's the reason you can't find yourself.

Can I get a gold sticker, LG? Hunh? Can I?!?!?!

Wow - I'm impressed. That's exactly the reason - about 2 months ago (maybe more) Match changed their searching so you would not show up online when you looked for yourself. The best way to handle this is to either logout or create a second, pictureless, hidden profile, account that you use for such things.

Those second accounts are handy because you can save searches and avoid having your profile show as active in cas you don't want someone to know you're online checking up on him/her.

Having a 2nd Match.com profile is a good thing also because you can send your other profile a message (if you are trying out their free trial or are a member) and see if any of your message is being edited.

If you put your email in the message, usually they will remove it or put some other text in its place. Sometimes the message isn't sent at all in the worst case scenereo...

I don't know how many times I've heard of someone complaining because they did the 3 day trial, sent out a bunch of emails and never got a response back. It is quite possible if they put their own email address in the text of the message, the other person never received anything at all from them to know they were interested.
